simPRO helps you grow: Laser Plumbing secure $20million in tender win for Grafton workers

We like to celebrate the successes of our clients, and what a success Laser Plumbing has had!

Not too long ago, there was a buzz of activity when the Grafton Correctional Centre tender was awarded to one of our most loyal clients, Laser Plumbing and Electrical. A whopping $20 million contract is no small matter, in fact it is the largest job that Laser has undertaken to date.

Jake Campbell, Laser Plumbing and Electrical construction manager reflected on a previous job and said, "the infrastructure at Lismore Base was a large project and still continues to be, but this will be the largest project we've tackled but we're confident that we can put in the right systems and structures and right resourcing in process to facilitate it and make it happen." To read more about the project, read the article by the Daily Examiner.

Business for other businesses

While Laser Plumbing and Electrical will be leading the charge, other local companies shall be assisting and partnering up to help ensure this large project is carried out smoothly. Tradelink Grafton, Clarence Earthmoving and Valley Earthworks will all be getting their hands dirty, both literally and figuratively, throughout this project.

Paul Fuller, Valley Earthworks director, said, "We can employ local people and the money stays in the area.

"It's going to be a big project, it could be 10-12 machines, looking at the timelines. It's a pretty big job and before too long we could have 10-15 crews working out there, because there's a lot to do.”

A win for the whole community

For tradespeople in Grafton, this project opens up a lot of opportunities. Clarence MP Chris Gulaptis said this project would create long-term economic opportunities locally, for hospitality and retail employees, as well as create jobs during both construction and operation.

"This is a massive win for the local area, with the project set to inject more than $560 million into the local economy over the next 20 years," he said.
Over the project’s duration, simPRO’s software, mobile apps and web-based solutions will be there to help Laser with job management and keep office staff in contact with staff out on site. As the essential trade business tool, simPRO is ready to help. Find out more here
